It's an amazing feeling to know that you couldn't possibly love another human being more. Mother's Day is tomorrow and without these two I wouldn't be able to call myself that very special word.
This guy is so smiley.
He loves sitting up like a big boy in his highchair.
Gabe was clearly not interested with all the toys at Toys'R'Us. I'm confident that will change someday.
This picture is deceiving because he actually really likes his sweet potatoes.
Gabe is getting so big! He was 20 lbs. at his last appointment! That's the 110% percentile. When he was first born we thought he was going to be a little more mellow than our vivacious Cairi but he's proven that he's got a lot to say and that he can be just as silly! Him and Cai are more alike everyday. He's rolling over a lot and getting really close to sitting up on his own. He loves to reach for things and especially loves pulling my hair. He's definitely a daddy's boy. I can never get him laughing as hard as Chris can. They have that boy connection for sure! It's really heartwarming to see how excited Chris is to see his kids when he gets home from work and vice versa. He has to remind himself that Gabe isn't as sturdy as Cairi because he's frequently wanting to throw Gabe over his shoulder like he's an 18 month old. I can't even begin to express what a blessing it's been to have him in our lives. He has a smile on his face almost every second of the day. The only time he's fussy -when he's ready to eat! lol. I can't say enough how much I love him.
I think she's definitely enjoying this.
Cairi knows what she likes. Unfortunately she likes EVERYTHING, lol I don't think there was a toy that she didn't point out.
I'm pretty sure this jeep was her favorite.
Cai dancing at a concert her grandpa was performing in. She's a natural.
Cousin Colby and Cairi! He adores her.
Cairi already acts too old for her years. I feel like I'm going to wake up tomorrow to her asking me for the car keys. It's very bittersweet watching your kids grow up, I wish she could be my little girl forever. At the same time, I don't think I've ever experienced something more fulfilling than watching her learn new things everyday. She's talking up a storm. No complete sentences, but probably one new word each day. She's a big mama's girl and I have to admit nothing feels better than knowing you complete somebody's world that way. We do everything together -all day. If mama isn't there she will find me, she loves holding hands and she loves to cuddle even if we're watching boring mommy movies. Her daddy however, is the one she finds if she's feeling playful! Chris is SO MUCH FUN with our kids. He can't lay down on the floor without Cairi running and jumping on him. She loves wrestling and jumping on daddy. When she's finally tuckered out she'll just lay on his chest until they both fall asleep or she's ready for round 2. He is the ultimate dad. Some of the things she's saying:
No = Nose
Eye
Teef = Teeth
(She can point to all these as well as her hair, belly button, feet, and ears. So fun.)
Shoe
Ca = Car
Ba = Buzz (and some other B words, they all kind of sound the same.)
Pitty = Pretty
Ewwwww (One of my favorites.)
Ow (She likes to say this sometimes if she doesn't want me to get her dressed, she'll say ow, ow, ow.)
Ha = Hot
Ca = Color
Too = Toodles
Ba = Ball
I love you Cairi and Gabriel. I know I'm the luckiest woman in the world to be your mother.
